Welcome to Rydal Apartment Ambleside!

 

A beautiful apartment in the heart of the village of Ambleside within the stunning English Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. 

 

Recently refurbished, Rydal Apartment Ambleside is a stylish and cosy 4* Gold rated, 1 bedroom,  self-catering cottage for solo travellers or a couple. With spectacular mountain views, Rydal is the perfect, quiet, tucked-away little haven to relax in after a day's walking. Spend time preparing a delicious meal, curl up with a book, or just soak up the stunning scenery in Rydal's designer, 'scandi' inspired space. We pride ourselves on providing everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing (or action-packed!) holiday on your own or with a partner.

We are located a 3 mins walk (up a small hill) from the famous 'Bridge House' Ambleside and the village centre, with its many cafes, restaurants, shops, cinemas, and of course, doorstep access to the fells.

 

Free parking is provided on site.

History of Rydal Apartment Ambleside

​

Rydal Apartment Ambleside was purpose built in the grounds of the former Kirkstone Foot Hotel. The Hotel was the production office for the 1974 film 'Swallows and Amazons' and many of the crew stayed at the hotel, where the first showing of the film took place. There are lovely views from all the windows, especially the lounge from which you can see Fox How and Todd Crag, with St Mary's Church and Ambleside village in the fore-ground.
