Welcome to Herdwick Cottage Ambleside!

 

A traditional Victorian Lakeland stone cottage in a quiet road in the heart of Ambleside within the beautiful English Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. 

 

Recently refurbished, Herdwick Cottage Ambleside is beautiful, award winning 4*, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom self-catering cottage for up to 5 people. We pride ourselves on providing everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing (or action-packed!) holiday with family or friends.

We are located just behind the famous 'Bridge House' Ambleside, in a quiet road with flat walking access to the village centre. Free parking is provided using our guest permit.

Ambleside is the 5th most popular starting point for walkers in Britain and the village itself boasts a selection of restaurants, pubs, cinemas, museums and an indoor climbing wall as well as children's play park and excellent public transport links to explore the rest of the Lake District.

Explore England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike, its deepest lake, Wast Water, or simply wander through some of the many fells, taking in the beauty and changes that each season brings.
